Inquiry anchored in disciplinary competence.

Human and social systems are never isolated from landscapes, technologies, economies, or histories. This division brings the interpretive depth of anthropology and the social sciences into direct contact with spatial analysis, computation, fieldwork, and public problem-solving.

Students move between qualitative and quantitative methods while learning to distinguish evidence, interpretation, and inference. Work is organized around real questions and ends in usable outputs: field records, maps, datasets, policy analysis, exhibits, publications, and research instruments.
